The State Council, China’s cabinet, agreed to temporarily adjust certain relevant provisions of the Regulation of the People's Republic of China on Guarantee for Customs Affairsin South China’s Guangdong province in a reply released on April 2.
To advance the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin (Cooperation Zone) and deepen cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the adjustment grants a guarantee-free pass to eligible Macao motor vehicles temporarily entering and leaving other areas of Guangdong province via the Cooperation Zone.
Also known as a policy to allow vehicles with only Macao plates to travel northward into Guangdong province through the Cooperation Zone, the adjustment will take immediate effect after approval.
