Five new nine-seat electric buses were put into operation in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin on May 11, helping reduce wait times and improve ride availability, especially during morning and evening rush hours.

The new buses feature four key upgrades: a more spacious nine-seat interior, a quiet electric drive for a comfortable ride, a compact design suited for narrow roads and small stops, and USB ports at every row for on-the-go charging.
How to book a ride: Users can open the "Hengqin Dynamic Bus (横琴动态公交)" WeChat mini program, select the pick-up and drop-off stops, confirm the number of passengers, make the payment, and wait at the designated stop. The system will automatically match the nearest available bus once the trip is confirmed.
Hengqin now has 167 stops across the island. The platform has registered approximately 90,000 users, with a ride-sharing rate exceeding 90%. It serves around 3,100 passengers daily and has facilitated approximately 1.64 million trips, helping make cross-border travel between Hengqin and Macao more convenient and diverse.
