The Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has launched a recruitment drive exclusively for Macao permanent residents, offering 50 entry-level public sector positions as part of efforts to advance cross-border integration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Applications opened on May 20 and will close on May 29. Candidates may apply online for one position only.
The vacancies are for junior administrative officers across departments including legal affairs, economic development, finance, industrial development, public services, urban planning, and social security. Most positions require no prior work experience, making the program open to fresh graduates.
The positions prioritize applicants with backgrounds in fields such as law, economics, finance, and management, although some are open to candidates from any academic background.
According to the recruitment notice, annual pre-tax income is up to 330,000 yuan ($45,000), with take-home pay at roughly 240,000 yuan. Employees may also be entitled to housing provident fund benefits. Other perks include 22 days of paid annual leave, social insurance coverage, and corporate pension contributions.
The hiring process will include CV screening, written examinations, interviews, medical examinations, and background reviews.
Applicants who have passed Macao’s comprehensive ability assessment examination (综合能力评估开考) will earn extra points during the screening stage, aligning the recruitment system with Macao’s existing civil service assessment framework.
The examination in Macao is a standard public-sector screening test used in recruitment to assess basic competencies such as language comprehension, logical reasoning, and data interpretation. Candidates receive a pass/fail result, which may be used as part of the eligibility or screening process for government-related positions.
