The inbound duty-free shop at Hengqin Port officially opened on September 23. Inbound travelers entering from Macao can enjoy tax-free shopping on purchases of up to 15,000 RMB. The store carries traditional duty-free categories such as perfume, cosmetics, tobacco, alcohol, and food, along with electronics and a dedicated “Hong Kong and Macao Brands” counter.

As the number of travellers between Hengqin and Macao increases, retail demand at Hengqin Port is rising. The store provides a display and sales platform for global products, including Macao products, to meet demand for personal use and gifting.

The inbound store is operated by a joint venture established by Zhuhai Duty Free, Da Heng Qin Commercial Management, as well as Shenhe Culture, Commerce and Tourism. The store will coordinate with duty-free stores at Gongbei Port, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and Qingmao Port to improve the duty-free service network at key Guangdong-Macao entry and exit points. The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin will keep supporting Zhuhai Duty Free and related companies in providing consumer services.

In January 2026, Chinese authorities announced plans to establish duty-free shops at 41 listed ports of entry to the country, including airports, seaports and land border crossings, aiming to facilitate tax-free shopping for inbound travelers. The Hengqin Port outbound duty-free store, which began operation in 2023, has recorded annual sales of over 10 million RMB. With the addition of the inbound store, Hengqin Port now operates both inbound and outbound duty-free facilities.
