On September 23, the Mercado Libre Seller Center Plaque Awarding Ceremony and the 2027 Mercado Libre Seller Recruitment and Operations Launch Conference (Hengqin) were held in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. Hosted by the Service Centre for Economy and Trade between China and Portuguese/Spanish-Speaking Countries (CECPS) and supported by Mercado Libre, the event drew more than 100 industry representatives.

At the event, Mercado Libre, Latin America's largest e-commerce platform, officially launched its seller center at CECPS. The center is among Mercado Libre's first-batch seller centers in China. It will provide end-to-end services including registration for local stores in Brazil, tax & finance compliance, and operational guidance.

Hengqin's growing cross-border e-commerce ecosystem underpins the launch. In the first seven months of 2026, the Cooperation Zone's imports and exports reached 43.46 billion RMB, up 64 percent year on year. In August, the Macau International Airport's Hengqin front cargo facility was put into operation, enabling cross-border e-commerce export goods to be loaded onto aircraft in Hengqin and sent worldwide in two hours.

During the themed sharing session, teams from CECPS and Mercado Libre introduced topics including 2027 investment support policies, key market opportunities in Latin America, product selection strategies, overseas warehouses, and tax compliance.

The conference also featured an exhibition area designed for networking and interactive engagement, allowing participating companies to communicate face-to-face with the official Mercado Libre team, ecosystem service providers, and senior sellers.
