Hengqin Port handled more than 150,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips on October 4, surpassing the previous single-day record of 147,900 on May 2 and up 20 percent year on year, according to the Hengqin Border Inspection Station of the Zhuhai General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection. It was the first time the port had recorded over 150,000 passenger trips in a single day since its opening.

On October 4, the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest and several major performances have attracted mainland residents to Macao for leisure travel, with 74,000 mainland residents crossing Hengqin Port, up about 24.4 percent year on year, driving the port's passenger growth.

On the same day, more than 38,000 Hong Kong and Macao residents crossed Hengqin Port, up about 32.1 percent year on year and accounting for 25.4 percent of the day's total passenger flow.
