The Industrial Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has recently organized a delegation of more than 20 MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) enterprises from Hengqin and Macao to attend the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia 2026 (IT&CMA) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The delegation was jointly organized by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macao SAR and the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) representative for the Thai market.
The delegation introduced Macao’s international conference experience, Hengqin’s MICE venues, supportive policies, and cross-border clearance advantages, with a focus on the “MICE² Macao x Hengqin” brand and its “Multi-venue Event” mode.
Participating enterprises also joined the Global MICE Collaborative Certification (GMC) training program, which covered conference planning, exhibition operations, and international reception.
This event forms part of a series of joint promotion activities for Southeast Asia jointly organized by Hengqin and Macao. In August, the delegation attended the M&C Asia Connections 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where Hengqin-Macao institutions and enterprises completed more than 700 business matching sessions. Overall, the joint promotion team has completed over 1,000 business matching sessions across Southeast Asia this year.
During the series of activities, Macao has been awarded “Best Conventions Destination (Asia)” and “Best BT-MICE City” for the fourth consecutive year.

This year, Hengqin received the “Best Innovative Unit for MICE Policies” award and the “Best Tourism Market Promotion Award”. At the 2026 China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE 2026), the cooperation zone and Macao jointly received the “Best Organization Award”. In August, the Hengqin Industrial Development Bureau joined the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).
