China's leading embodied AI firm AGIBOT lands in Hengqin

On September 22, AGIBOT, one of China’s leading firms developing general-purpose humanoid robotics driven by embodied AI, established a subsidiary in Hengqin. The establishment was jointly facilitated by the Industrial Investment Fund of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin (hereinafter referred to as “Hengqin Guidance Fund”) and Houwei Capital Management Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Houwei Capital”).

In August 2026, AGIBOT signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chimelong Group to build the world’s first large-scale immersive embodied AI theme park at Chimelong Spaceship Park in Hengqin.

With support from the Hengqin Guidance Fund, Houwei Capital helped AGIBOT expand from single business cooperation into cultural and tourism development. AGIBOT plans to base a team of over 100 operations and R&D professionals in Hengqin, where it will develop embodied intelligence projects for entertainment and conduct data collection. It will add significant momentum to the Cooperation Zone’s sci-tech R&D and digital culture industry layout.

The Cooperation Zone has supported AGIBOT’s establishment in Hengqin, providing policy support for cross-border trade, scientific and technological innovation and R&D. It helps the enterprise present embodied AI solutions to Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries, as well as Southeast Asian markets via economic and trade channels. It also provides large-scale real-world testing environments through Hengqin’s cultural tourism resources for R&D validation in Hengqin and wider application in other markets.
