Hengqin Shenhe Innovation Development Co., Ltd. and Arkshel Robotics Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., have recently completed a first-ever coordinated trial integrating water, land and air operations with embodied intelligence. The trial centered on a humanoid robot’s transition from water to shore.

The trial took place at the All-Domain Intelligent Unmanned Systems Demonstration Base and the Joint Innovation Center for Application Scenarios, as well as along the Tianmu Qintai riverside in Hengqin. During the test, the intelligent unmanned boat “Taohuayuan” operated by Shenhe Innovation and the Arkshel MX01 robot worked together to conduct operations across water, land and air. The MX01 switched into quadruped mode on complex terrain, and equipped with a flight module, achieving stable flight in strong winds.

The strategic logic behind the trial is to connect unmanned systems to the final point of action, where perception, movement and execution form a complete loop. This matters because unmanned vehicles can deliver equipment to a building entrance but cannot climb the stairs, and drones can reach a balcony but cannot enter the room. In both cases, the system gets close to the target without completing the final action. Embedding embodied intelligence into the network closes that final gap by linking perception, movement and execution at the endpoint.
Hengqin’s appeal as a testbed lies in its density of real-world scenarios—ports, islands and residential communities folded into a compact validation loop. Shenhe Innovation is now leading the construction of the Hengqin Embodied Intelligence Real-World Training Center, with Arkshel Robotics already on its preliminary cooperation list. The center is designed to extract replicable solutions from live trials and build a “Hengqin model” that can be extended to Macao and Portuguese-speaking markets.
