On February 18, 2025, the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin issued a reminder regarding the upcoming deadline for the 2024 individual income tax preferential policy. Individuals eligible for the program, including high-end and urgently-needed talents, must submit their applications by February 28, 2025. Those who qualify can benefit from tax exemptions on income tax amounts exceeding 15%.

Eligibility Criteria:

● Applicants must have a labor contract of at least one year with an enterprise registered and operating within the cooperation zone.

●The employer must be legally registered and operational within the cooperation zone.

●Applicants must have paid social insurance in Hengqin for at least six months.

●High-end talents must either be leading in their field or have an annual income of 500,000 RMB or more.

●Urgently-needed talents must have a bachelor's degree or higher, or possess relevant professional qualifications.

Application Process: Applications must be submitted through https://ycfz.hengqin.gov.cn/.

Applicants must upload the required documents, and have their applications reviewed and approved by the employer before submitting to government departments. Only after employer approval will the application be considered successfully submitted.

The Economic Development Bureau cautioned against waiting until the deadline to submit applications, as system congestion could cause delays. Late or unreviewed submissions will be treated as automatic forfeitures. Eligible applicants and employers are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.
