Hengqin Advanced Intelligent Computing Center

Profile: Jointly established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Guangdong, Zhuhai, and Hengqin governments, the Hengqin Advanced Intelligent Computing Center is a key research result of CAS’ strategic pilot project – “Domestically-made Safe and Controllable Advanced Computer System.” The large-scale, independent, and controllable platform adopts Dawning Information Industry (Sugon)’s servers and AI accelerator cards (neural network chips) provided by Cambricon Technologies, possessing a stronger computing power than traditional CPU supercomputing centers. The center mainly provides intelligent computing software and hardware, resource sharing, cross-over research, centralized data storage and backup, and industrial innovation for governments, enterprises, and research institutes.

Hengqin International Scientific and Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

Profile: The registration for the third Hengqin International Scientific and Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition started in April 2023. The competition aims to be at the forefront of the development of the current sci-tech industry, attracting companies from four fields, including integrated circuits and electronic components, biomedical and medical devices, big data and artificial intelligence, new materials and new energy. It had attracted a total of 1,359 applications for China's scientific and technological innovation projects from home and abroad. The winners of the final included 11 enterprises in the start-up group and 10 enterprises in the growth group. The New Green Lotus Award, introduced for the first time, had attracted 278 projects from Macao. Finally, this award went to three companies from Portuguese-speaking countries and three companies from Macao.
