On the afternoon of February 22, the "Hengqin Carbonians(琴碳星人)" fun walking event took place at Hengqin National Wetland Park. The event attracted residents from both Hengqin and Macao, united in their commitment to a low-carbon lifestyle and fostering cross-border exchanges.

The 3.5-kilometer walk saw participants engage with tasks, while learning about carbon reduction and green practices. Each participant tracked their carbon-reduction actions via the mini-app on their smartphone, contributing to green energy. Upon completing the walk, they received carbon-neutral certificates issued by the Guangzhou Carbon Emission Rights Trading Center, with each certificate officially registered on the "读碳 (Carbon Registry)" platform through blockchain technology, confirming a reduction of 6.66kg in carbon emissions.

Throughout the event's planning and execution, various measures were taken to reduce carbon emissions, including the recycling of exhibition boards, encouraging public transport, and implementing waste sorting.

The event was promoted through the "Macao One Account" platform, with approximately 80 Macao residents, including students from Pui Ching Middle School, participating. Organizers hope that this initiative will attract more people to embrace a low-carbon lifestyle, enhance cooperation between Hengqin and Macao, and continue hosting similar activities to deepen the exchange between the two regions.
