The second MacaoInternational Comedy Festival is set to take center stage from April 9 to 13, bringing together top comedy talents from around the world. Led by renowned Chinese comedians Shen Teng and Ma Li, this year's festival expands its lineup with young performers and introduces an industry investment platform for the first time.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, which debuted last year across Macao and Hengqin, the festival continues to promote cultural exchange through humor. The event will feature a diverse mix of stage performances, stand-up comedy, film screenings, and industry forums, with the addition of an investment summit to foster creative collaborations and drive the evolution of comedy in China.
The festival aims to further integrate comedy with the region's tourism sector. The initiative aligns with the policy advantages of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, positioning the area as a hub for creative industries and live entertainment.
Organizers emphasize that the festival's twin-venue model, spanning both Macao and Hengqin, will play a crucial role in shaping the city's cultural and tourism landscape while establishing comedy as a key driver of the local economy.
