The Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin recently held two policy promotion sessions in Macao, focusing on the cultural and sports sectors. These sessions aimed to introduce the cooperation zone's supportive policies for cultural and sports development, enhancing the ability of Macao enterprises to benefit from these policy advantages.

Policy promotion sessions gain traction
The sessions attracted over 170 representatives from Macao's cultural and sports enterprises, associations, and industry leaders.
Feng Fangdan, Director of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Cooperation Zone, stated that the purpose of the sessions was to promote the cooperation zone's policies supporting cultural and sports development. The goal was to create a platform for exchange and collaboration between the cultural and sports sectors of Hengqin and Macao, leveraging the "Macao+Hengqin" advantage to attract high-quality cultural and sports resources from Macao to the cooperation zone.
In-depth policy interpretation
During the sessions, Li Yi, Acting Director of the Cultural and Sports Division of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau, provided a detailed interpretation of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin Cultural Development Support Measures and Sports Development Support Measures, along with relevant application guidelines.
The Sports Development Support Measures, effective since July 1, 2024, have seen two rounds of project collections. A total of 98 project applications were received, with 34 projects included in the support plan. Among these, 13 projects, accounting for 38%, feature Macao elements or are planned to be held in both Hengqin and Macao under the "one festival, two cities" model.
The Cultural Development Support Measures, implemented on January 1, 2025, received its first batch of project applications, with 129 projects submitted. Of these, 62 projects—nearly 50%—incorporate Macao elements or are designed to be held in both regions. All projects have been evaluated, and the supported projects will be announced based on the results.
The Civil Affairs Bureau of the Hengqin Cooperation Zone plans to enhance policy promotion through diverse channels and innovative methods. This approach will ensure precise delivery of policy content to target groups, guiding Macao market entities to actively participate in the cultural and sports development of the cooperation zone.
