Two pioneering medical devices developed in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin have been included in the province’s first-ever directory of approved innovative pharmaceutical and medical technologies.
The announcement was made jointly by four Guangdong government departments, highlighting the inclusion of two systems developed by True Health (Guangdong Hengqin) Medical Technology Co., Ltd.: a microwave ablation system with navigation capabilities and a puncture surgery navigation system.
The microwave ablation system is said to be the first of its kind globally, integrating real-time respiratory tracking with navigation and microwave ablation technology to target lesions more precisely. The puncture navigation system, the first in China, reduces patients' radiation exposure by providing an alternative to traditional CT-guided procedures.
Both devices are already in clinical use across multiple top-tier hospitals, with over 4,300 procedures reportedly performed using the technologies.
Hengqin has seen rapid growth in its medical device sector in recent years, now home to 22 registered developers with 63 approved products, alongside 10 manufacturers and nearly 200 distributors.
