As of August 15, the number of vehicles entering and exiting through Hengqin Port this year has exceeded 2 million trips, reaching this milestone more than three months earlier than in 2024, representing a year-on-year increase of 45.6%.

Located at the southern tip of Zhuhai, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin faces Macao across a narrow stretch of water. Hengqin Port is the only land port connecting Hengqin and Macao. Hengqin and Zhuhai have been creating favorable conditions, including enhanced clearance convenience, to promote the co-development of Macao.

Among them, over 1.315 million trips were made by Macao vehicles with a single Macao license plate, accounting for 65.8% of the total.

Hengqin Port pioneered China’s first one-stop clearance model for passengers and vehicles, enabling cross-border traffic to be completed in one go. The average customs clearance time has now been reduced to just 23 seconds.

In addition, a new measure allowing Hengqin and Macao to share electronic tags for vehicles with a single Macao license plate was officially launched on August 15, enabling “one tag for Hengqin and Macao” and significantly improving clearance efficiency.
