There are 13 sports parks such as Tianqin Park, Community Sports Park, and Fengqing Square in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, with a total land area of 100,000 sqm (25 acres). Public outdoor fitness equipment is used at seven sites across the island, while 30 km (17 miles) of cycling and running trails have been constructed at the Hengqin Flower Corridor and Mangzhou and Erjing Bay wetland parks, alongside the Tianmu River, and between Hengqin Ferry Terminal and Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort. Large-scale sports venues include the Hengqin International Tennis Center and Tinmuk Rowing Center.
The Cooperation Zone also owns public cultural facilities such as Hengqin Cultural Station; cultural bookstores at Santang, Shenjing, and Xiacun villages, and Hengqin Tourist Service Center, as well as two private museums. Hengqin Cultural and Art Center, a large-scale cultural facility, is under construction and will be put into use in stages.
Hengqin also boasts the provincial cultural relics protection site Hengqin Chishawan Sand Dunes, and three immovable cultural relics: the Emperor Wudi Temple on Naobei Mt, Portuguese inscriptions in Hongqi Village, and the former site of Hengqin Central Ditch Headquarters. Hengqin oyster production skills are one of the municipal intangible cultural heritages.
