The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin is home to 15 educational institutions, comprising nine public schools (three kindergartens, four primary schools, and two middle schools), five private educational institutions (one kindergarten, two nine-year integrated schools, and two senior high schools), and one school for Macao residents' children.

　　High-quality educational resources from Capital Normal University and Huafa Education are accelerating the modernization of fundamental education in the Cooperation Zone. High-end private institutions such as Harrow LiDe School Hengqin and Hengqin Huafa Yung Wing School provide an international and diverse educational environment.

　　Hengqin aligns with the educational system of Macao in accordance with the requirements of the General Plan for Building A Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin issued in 2021. By leveraging its unique geographical and policy advantages, the Cooperation Zone has established the Hengqin School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School, the first school for Macao residents' children in the Chinese mainland, in the Macao New Neighborhood. This creates an educational environment in line with Macao and promotes deeper integration of people's livelihoods in both Hengqin and Macao.
